tried pushing the iem further and no changes on the sq. i think i have the perfect seal. i conclude that it's the recording at fault on the sibilant track. since there's only a few tracks that's sibilant. or maybe because i'm using the xo2 as an amp too that's why there's not much sibilance.

maybe the ex1000 sound is not for you bro. since you came from a bass heavy can. i on the other hand had a dt1350 so i'm a bit used to the treble. i'm a basshead but a closet treblehead haha

there's no problem with the highs cymbal crashes... it's the "sss" and some "ch"

and like i said earlier.. the fault could be on the track.. i have low quality tracks which doesn't have "sss"

i can't even imagine that the soundstage could still be increased over the ex600 cables waaah...

what about resolution, details?

For me, did not notice change in reso/details, ask jcruiz or dyaems about that.  ;)
There are still spikes though, but it's surely toned down.
Btw what size of hybrids were you using on your ex1000? Because I used medium so maybe that made a difference. Though dyaems did noticed and approved that increase in soundstage. hehe

I've figured out how to greatly decrease the sibilance, first was Dyaem's "push through" and second was changing my ML hybrids to Medium, there was noticeable decrease then after i decided to use the MS hybrids and there was more improvement overall but still some tracks just have painful sibilance..

here's a short summary of my impression on the three cables that i auditioned. Oh and i am very poisoned... very poisoned. i was offering 3k for the ex1000 cables and dyaems didn't want to part with it.

EX600 - we called them "trash cables" compared to the other two, the ex600 cables had narrower sound stage, thinner and cold sound, and of course the sibilance was everywhere

EX800 - The "BASS" Cables - soundstage improved a bit, there's still sibilance but overall toned the whole treble a bit, bass was punchy and meatier and overall made the ex1000 a bit warmer. I am actually quite satisfied with the sq of this cable since it sounds flatter than the ex600 cables

EX1000 - 7N Cable Goodness - these unleashed the EX1000's cable full potential. overall the sound was meatier and full bodied. bass goes very deep and tight but gave a bit of an increase tho but still ok since i'm a closet basshead. mids were forward and (lush?),

listened to "your song" on the best audiophiles vii album and "sierra highway" by pat coil and i was blown away.

on the important part of the ex1000 cable; the treble, the treble wasn't sibilant anymore, it wasn't toned down but rather it was more smoother and sweeter to the ears, it's the kind of sweet treble that you can get from the dt1350.

conclusion: i was about to sell my ex1000 because of the sibilance on some tracks but after i auditioned the ex800 and ex1000 cables, i would say that the ex1000 will stay in my collection when i finally get my hands on it's rightful cable. clearly the ex1000 cables is far superior to the ex600 cable.

oh and btw, other people that have auditioned my ex1000 with the other cables can correct me if i'm wrong on some points. as of now i'm writing this as an ex1000 + ex1000 cable fanboy.

^Interesting findings I want to try them again right now. :P

Dang I should had tried A/B'ing them. I only remembered that EX1000 already has that lush mids, but a treble combarable to the dt1350 is quite shocking.
