Ah, just when I've already ordered one. But whatever, I'm still happy to be getting a UM3X. Can't wait for it to arrive.  ;D

We can't wait to welcome you bro to the UM3X club! :)

Just my darn luck? Have 'other' priorities to attend too nooooo!

it is not about the "cost" of the rig, but on how you "value" it.

AFAIK, it's around Php10.5k, a few hundred pesos more expensive than the UM2s. :)

My UM3X RC is here!  ;D

First thing I noticed was that the build quality is just fantastic. Same thing with the cable, nothing like the crappy cable that comes with the TF10. Very light and flexible with zero microphonics.

Comfort is top-notch. The PL50 still beats it in this regard, but that's a much smaller IEM. Isolation also seems to be great with the Shure olives. I won't know for sure until I get to try it in buses and jeepneys, but it's looking great so far.

Sound is balanced and very forward. It doesn't have that spacious, almost headphone-like feel of the TF10, but that's to be expected for an IEM meant to be used as stage monitor. What I did not expect was that the bass was very strong -- maybe even stronger that I remember from the TF10. It doesn't have the hyper-detailed treble of the TF10, but the detail is there, and it's definitely not fatiguing. Overall, I'd describe the sound as "complete." Nothing jumps out at you, and it doesn't have any weakness in any frequency range. Just like a monitor should be.

I think I've found the perfect IEM for my commutes. I don't think I'll be in the market for an IEM for quite some time.  ;D

Congrats bro :) I can assure you that the UM3x+Olives is up there with one of the best when it comes to isolation in public commutes and the comfort and fit is on another world. Pretty unmatched imo.

Only thing which bothers me is the cable during commutes which is a bit longer than what I would like it to be
If it looks bad CF it, If it sounds bad DENKO it!

Ah, yes the cable is a bit longer than other IEMs I've had. Doesn't really bother me though, since I only use IEMs when inside vehicles, not when walking around. I'm clumsy enough even without IEMs on.  :)
