Impressions from the 11062011 Headfonics launch meet:
=snipped=

Despite the current boom of having a multitude of options amongst top-tier IEMs, I feel that the SE535 rightly belongs amongst the big guns. It's not the last word in detail, transparency and soundstage but its uniquely colored midrange makes listening to all kinds of music simply a pleasure and for me at least, I could forgive the areas where it lags behind its competitors.

100% agree on this the mids of 535 are phenomenal. :)

I would like to comment on the durability of my shure earphones - they are quite well built; I drop this expensive IEM's and they are still functioning quite well. (though you should not do this on purpose).

I now got the shure 535 and 425; to compare there is barely negligible difference, I would say the 535 has greater bass impact and wider sound field

Considering the identical exterior, is the 535 worth the price? I was also choosing between the two, but ended up settling on the 425 because of the better value.

mmmm.,,,,since I bought the se425 for 11k++ it is not equivalent to twice the better sound for the se535 (21k)

hmmm... interesting... is the midrange on both models almost identical? since you have both, maybe you could chime some info, bass impact doesnt matter much, just want the mids part... :) thanks bro

and did you get yours locally?  where and how much. thanks
it is not about the "cost" of the rig, but on how you "value" it.

Shameless plug: someone mentioned in hf.org that the K2 that I'm selling is 'better' than the SE535 --- you may want to audition it :D and it's only P12T ;) and the fit is almost (feel i.e.) like customs!

If you want a more "complete" sound and wider sound stage then the SE535 will definitely serve you well.
