Shure SE535/SE435

Fellow HeadPhilers,

Do you think we'll see these IEMs in local stores anytime soon, with demo IEMs available to the public?

It's a pity that stores carrying Shure IEMs have yet to bring in these newest Shure items. Worse, they've stowed the demo IEMs away.

There have been quite a lot of sales of these over at TPC a few months ago.

Seems to be brand new, and genuine, although I've no way to confirm.

I believe one member seems to have bought the SE535. Only for 8k if I recall correctly.

Not sure if that guy made it to this new site.

Sorry, I really can't remember your username whoever you are XD

Wow, only 8k for a pair of SE535's???  :o

I hope it isn't the "OEM" type.  ;)

Well, it's been a quite a while, and there hasn't seem to be any complaints from the buyer, so I guess OEM or not, it's still able to hold itself together.

And are there even "OEMs" of Shures?

I do recall somebody buying a Shure for about the same price, but it's the E500PTH, it was bro reorx(?) IIRC. Don't know if you're referring to him though.  ;D

Oh yeah!! You're right!

Although I could've sworn that I also saw an ad at TPC for the SE535.. At the time the E500PTH was sold, there were also other Shure earphones for sale at a very cheap price..

And yeah, it was bro Reorx.

oh yes there are. Many imitations of the E*G's and the SCL2's have already been created, some of them even in TPC.  ::)

yeah, most of them coming from the same seller though. there seemed to be a "leakage" of BNIB Shure IEMs that are priced good considering that they are real:-\

Yup, twas me ;D

Got the e500s for 7k from tpc, and im 100% sure its orig and unused...it was sealed and had complete packaging, with metal box and unused tips and all. Although the box still had the sticker price na 18500, i wonder saan galing yun at bat ang mura. Pero since e500 sha, di pa naiimbento olive tips nun (they come with the 530s, not the e500s) so I had to buy those 5-pair packs sa powermac. I love my olive tips, and compy tips tend to disintegrate on me with a month's (or less) usage.

As for the 535s, head-fi response is very positive, with two of the (alleged) shortcomings of the e500 and se530 being addressed: The fragile cables and the rolled-off highs. Although personally, I dont find the highs of my e500s rolled off at all.

The 535s are quickly approaching FOTM status in head-fi, and Shure is back in the discussions of top tier level universal iems.

I hope Amazon holds a sale for the 530s ala the great 99 usd TF10 blowout which we missed on  >:(

Whoa! Congrats bro for that wonderful deal!  ;D

Since you have the e500s, are the cables prone to hardening and cracking? Or are they still going strong?

I have a question about Shure IEMs, but I don't think I really need to create a new thread for it.

Anyway, have any of you guys been able to compare Shure SE31x with the SE53x? I bought SE310s recently. My opinion on them is that they have good mids, but anemic bass. It was listed as having a tuned bass port (?) but imo, there's no sense in fine tuning the bass if it's that weak. I don't really like the overemphasis on the midrange either. Basically, my question is how the bass is on the SE 53x, and do they have a similar sound signature to the 310s?

I'm not really an expert, but I think I can help. The tuned bass port is just a mechanism Shure engineers (if they have any) employ to somewhat "amplify" the bass frequencies of the bass-deficient armatures of their SE series monitors. Much like the bass reflex systems in home high-end speakers.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

On topic, I want the 535s! The bronze looks sexy, and it matches my skin tone to some extent!

have auditioned the SE530, it has anemic, if I can say malnourished bass.. the mids is really its strength.. though on my preference, I am more on leaning to the mids of TF10.

on your concern, haven't listened to a pair of SE310, but owned E3c before.. SE530 sounds a lot brighter and better than E3C..

shures generally do have anemic bass.  theyre midcentric phones (on which they excel) so theyre suited for specific genres.   i have owned an e500/se530 before and afaik its the shure iem which has the most bass quantity.  having said that, imo theyre my worst purchase ever since i really didnt like its sound sig (too forward with rolled off, unnatural highs).  i even thought they were defective so i had them replaced.  but as always ymmw since they cater for specific music genres which obviously didnt suit mine.
