VSonic GR01 : Serious sound in a small package

True, the GR06 is an extremely good competitor in the 2.3k (I got it at that price brand new) crushing every IEM I know of at that price range.

Though I tried a GR07, I did not hear what others were describing, it was the sellers demo unit and it was kind of bland, I've heard that it opens up some more at 200+hours so I'm willing to take a second look hear of it and do my review of it.

If a mere GR07 vs GR01 then I can say that GR01 is my "reference" IEMs while the GR07 would be my everything else IEM. There's something quite fun about an awesome dynamic that can't be beat by an awesome BA.

Though if I had the money :
UM3X > GR07 / GR01 > GR06

I really like the VSonic iems in general. They're really outdoing the competition with their bang for buck products. Their IEMs also have great accessories and seem to be built to last as well (though my GR07's cables are now turning green)

I agree with the GR01 being more "reference" than the GR07 but they both seem to serve the purpose of being studio monitors and being all rounders.

As for the GR06, I heard them just last week and I really like the brown color scheme it has. It looks pretty classy for an IEM of that price. It's V-shaped and doesnt have the detail of the GR07 but it is indeed a winner for 2.3k, no complaints from there. I would have to hear the E30 again to compare the 2 within very similar price rangers.

The GR08 is coming out in a few months as well, its said to be tuned like the K3003 according to rome. Can't wait to hear it!

I'm not sure if its a "competitor" per se, but it could have a similar sound signature

We might be steering too far with all this talk of their other models, we should discuss more about the GR01.

I think Vsonic should be added now on the child board cause theres a lot of Lineups to come up this year from them and everyone is loving Vsonic now a days. I hope I can audition you new babies bro frans

Is the gr01 on the same level as the gr07, or is it an uprade?

I think they were just  on the same level seperated by their own drivers. If you prefer to have better lows and mid lows , bigger/wider soundstage with better accuracy and balance  in all frequency then go with GR07 but if you prefer crisp highs(non-fatiguing high), better details/clarity and better instrument separation  with spacious and airy feel then go with GR01.

ty sir nojskie, is it necessary to use a headphone amp for the vsonics? I have the fiioe7 though, ill be using the iphone as my source, what do you think sir?

OT:

I didn't feel amping was necessary for my GR07, it already sounds great out of the Sansa Clipless+ HP out, and there's only little difference comparing to being driven by the FiiO E6 with no EQ on. However due to the GR07's clean and resolving nature, it responds very well to hardware EQ, I sometimes use the E6's red EQ mode (bass boost) for some added fun without muddying up the rest of the frequencies.

Does it sound better if an amp is used in general? I mean in my experience i the iphone can drive the superlux iem with ease. But everytime i use the fiio headamp the bass seems more controlled and the there is better separation in details.
