Just last night tried out the Aviators with the O2 amp, low gain, max volume, it was fantastic, never even broke a sweat, the bass was textured and not boomy, almost every nuance in the midrange was presented well, the highs were rolled off just enough to protect against fatigue. overall a good pair of cans. soundstaging was spacious and airy, wwhich is strange for a closed can. I previously commented that they had single tone bass, i was wrong, it could have been underpowered direct from the DAP, with an amp (needs a short stereo connector to bypass the mic intereference {warble}) they are indeed audiophile mid fi cans. :o
Trust only your own ears. Mine are different, lol.
