Sorta. Then again they account for half the revenue generated from headphones last year.

I am thinking that Beats will continue churning out headphones without Monster though

This still calls for a celebration

Does this really mean anything? I mean sure they aren't partners anymore but since they still own the rights to everything, they can probably still make Beats and stuff like that like it never happened. They certainly have the money to do so. And Monster's making independent stuff too, but they've been doing that for a while.
The formula of headphone ownership satisfaction is oH = n+1, where "oH" is the optimal number of headphones you need and "n" is the number of headphones you currently own.

^ Ditto. I actually think that this doesn't change anything other than removing the Monster logo from the Beats lineup.  ???  As the article say, Beats still own the rights to the design and sound-signature, which means they'll continue to expand their 'b' products...  Monster meanwhile will then continue churning out overpriced cables and accessories.  And their partnership doesn't end until end of the year.  So for me, it doesn't have a drastic impact really.

Beats will probably just have their headphones made/designed by the cheapest OEM/ODM they can find in China.  ::)

It could be another ploy, businesses doing some free marketing or re-branding refreshing a product, but it's good news altogether actually for Monster, the copyrights seems to be theirs too.
Trust only your own ears. Mine are different, lol.

Finally! ..And thought this would never happen. Pardon me, but I'm actually sick and tired of everyone (esp. my friends) who does not know nothing about audio and loves to diss our fav. brands (e.g. AKG, Grado, Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, Beyerdynamic, etc.) thinking these are inferior over their super "well-known" Beats. Wew, That was a relief  ;D
