I think this calls for another meet. Or a trip to the listening room perhaps.  ;D Do they have a 661 there? Last time I checked I think they only have the 660 and the 330. It seems like Gogadgets already have a new batch of 661s...in flying colors too.

Just bought the HD660 yesterday.  For me, 660 > 661.  :D

While I have not heard the HD661 yet, I will say that the HD660 surprised me a lot while listening to it during KenJam2. They matched incredibly well with the FiiO E6's red EQ setting, it added a welcome low end rumble to its default signature of having the positive Grado-ish attributes of forward excitement but without the harshness. They're more detailed and dynamic than they have a right to be at Php 2k price point, they're an absolute steal.

They may have blatantly copied the Beyer design aesthetics-wise but I dig it!

The HD661 is also a copy of Sony's MDR-7506/MDR-V6 design-wise, as with other S'lux phones that are a fusion of AKG and Audio-Technica aesthetics. XD And yeah, I also love the design. :D

They are, indeed. Perfect for frugal ones like me, haha. :P

I hope someone can provide a side-by-side comparison of this two HP. I bought the HD661 cause I've heard that HD660 will be harder to drive but I think its not after reading owners impressions about it :D. I love the (slight)V-shape SQ of the HD661 but I'm curious on the SQ of the HD660.   ::)

one thing is for sure, hd660 (at 150ohms) NEEDS to be properly amped; my cube C30 wasn't able to drive them properly. ;D
and the e11 demo beside it (at egghead) was low batt and i didn't have my e6 with me yesterday... but i could hear the potential; need to bring out that sound next time i come around.

hay.. why did it have to be 150 Ohms, 96dB.

..That 661 should be right with the mini^3. 8)

bro, wouldn't that be piercing? i'd prefer dark sounding amps on hd661
music please...

Driven out of a Sansa Clipless+, the HD660 is lacking in impact and resolution. Even a simple E6 (they're a great match on the red EQ setting as I mentioned earlier in this thread) makes a lot of difference in making them sound that much better.

I prefer the HD660 over the HD661 when I auditioned them both at Egghead Robinsons Galleria. The HD660 and HD330 are the best sounding Superlux headphones IMO, as the HD661 lacks that exciting fun factor that the HD660's forward signature has in spades.

I'd suggest visiting Egghead if you have the time so you can test the HD660 for yourself.
