Audio Technica 50th Anniversary
« on: October 14, 2011, 08:21:47 PM »
So it seems they have some new products!

W3000ANV 100,000 Yen

HA5000ANV 200,000 Yen

CKW1000ANV

Pro700 MK2 ANV

I'm now saving up for the W3000ANV.
The formula of headphone ownership satisfaction is oH = n+1, where "oH" is the optimal number of headphones you need and "n" is the number of headphones you currently own.

I'm already sold on the W3000ANV. :D
The way our bro  posts is akin to a caffein overloaded Energizer Bunny on steroids who suddenly decided to pop speed pills while downing a dozen bottles of Red Bull! ;D

oh, lookie, lookie ;D the w3000anv looks like a hybrid of the w11jpn and the w1000x  8)
I personally like the art on one of its earcups.

I'm kind of discouraged by the matching amp. I'm afraid that these cans will be as picky as the w11jpn and the w5000 raffinatos.

Yeah looks like it, hence the W.

When it comes to full size headphones ATH is still probably my favorite because of the sound and the easy to drive nature of their cans

Congrats to ATH!

Im pretty sure the EX1000 was more expensive than that when it launched

And the K3003 doesnt count because of multiple drivers I guess?

These look absolutely lovely.

I have been looking for some obscenely expensive wooden phones recently and the W3000ANV certainly has the looks
Headphones: Audio Technica AT-701, ATH-2, EM-7, FC 700, ATH-ES7, ATH-911, ATH-ON3, AT-703, ATH-SJ55, ATH-5, AT-702, ATH-ON303PL, ATH-ES5

Earphones: SoundMagic E30; Jays A-Jays One

Amps: FIIO E5, E7

Is it the W11JPN that's amp picky or the W2002? And even at around $1000 for the W3000, still probably worth it...

And the amp says HA5000, not HA3000. Does that mean it's for the W5000?

I'm not entirely sure as well. the W11r is a bit amp picky as well, at least, from what I have read in a few impressions.

I guess we will never know, unless somebody actually tries them out.

100k yen is the MSRP right? So we would probably see it a bit lower, as the W5000 had a higher MSRP.

That is, if it's gonna be sold outside of Japan.
