@daysleeper, not to you but to those you referred in your post that says "amp sucks, amp didn't work, Grado sucks, Grado doesn't work, blah blah"

An amp is the middle chain between your source and headphones, so you have to be careful to make it a strong link. Don't just randomly introduce an amp to your audio setup just for the sake of amping.

Grado 325is/HF2 pairs well with LD MKIII from my experience.
we remember, we forget.

Grados work with the fiio E10 too if you wan't to go cheap. The e10 sounds cleaner than the little dots grainwise but i've only heard the mk2 and the e10 is much better for 325s than the LD IMO

Very different. The fact that you're comparing a closed and open headphone makes this apparent. They're almost worlds apart. The only thing similar between them is the detail retrieval and aggressively forward nature.

Hi Seath. Expect the SR60i to cost around 6 grand in Acoustic Dimension.

This is refreshing news: you wanting to buy a Grado because of its looks. A lot of people want to get a Grado for the sound, then looks come second. I congratulate you in advance for making a good decision. :))

Hehe no prob. The metal genre is quite general, could you give us a couple of metal bands/artists you listen to? :)

Get an SR80i. It's better, and the additional price isn't that high (unless you're buying from Acoustic Dimension in Rockwell who really jacks up prices).
No source, no amps, no IEMs, no headphones. Just music. 8)

+1 on SR80i. If you can score a Alessandro MS1 that would be much better :D

Difference on SR80i and MS1i really depends on the listener's preference actually.
