There are people that like this more than the W5000, and what's been said about the sound (lifelife and euphoric) makes me tempted to compare to the DT48.
The formula of headphone ownership satisfaction is oH = n+1, where "oH" is the optimal number of headphones you need and "n" is the number of headphones you currently own.

From what I've read, it should sound quite different from the AD2000, which is midcentric and very airy.

Hmm, I wouldn't gun for a CD3000 if I were you. The drivers degrade over time (The biocellulose is organic. I give it another 5 years until a good bit of the drivers die, and some already have apparently) and replacements would be next to impossible to find. Shame for R10 owners.  :(

I don't think so, in anything other than name. They seem to be totally different from the regular A-series. I've only read that they're slightly on the bright side with less bass than most of the A-series, and maybe even the AD2000, like an upgraded A900TI (duh). I'd love to hear them, but their price is at the point where the W1000X is more tempting, and nobody around my area has one.

More bass light than the A series?! That would be awful, the A series are pretty bass light as it is.

A series? Bass light? The a900 I had was bass nuts! It will make your esw9 a little bass light in comparison LOL

The AD is the bass light series
