Curse it, it was a big gamble, but sad to say my LCD2 was part of the bad batch. Damn Audeze for not doing a full recall, this really sucks big time. Sure they'll ship out a new LCD2 but DAMN it costs 3k just to ship the headphones back to them and let's not even talk about the custom hoops we have to jump once the item arrives here.

Sad really, now I feel really bitter, should not have purchased from Audeze knowing they had issues with their product.

I'm not going to be happy with just the Rev2, they better give me the new leather headband considering how much mental duress I am under and considering how much effort and money it takes to order from them and ship to the Philippines.

Guuh this really puts a bad taste in my mouth and makes me very wary of ever going hi-fi boutique again.

And the sucky part, I just gave my Mios to Sandmoose today and now I have no good headphones left!

oh yah of course the rev2 with the leather headband. thats the least they can do for the downtime stress and the shipping costs you have to pay to return the item. You should also ask them to have the product declared with a low value or gift since you don't want to pay customs tax again.

Customs doesn't respect "gift" or whatever, they charge whatever they want!   Luckily we have friends like you and dinkoy with friendlier customs so we can get around it somehow. Anyhow I am going to straighten this out with Audeze now. GRRR!!!!

I once had to ship back an RMA item to the US (performance DDR3 memory from Corsair).  When I wrote "for repair/replacement" in the customs form, the courier (FedEx IIRC) told me to take a picture of the unit and print 2 copies, attach one to the customs form and keep the other.  Supposedly, this will prevent double duties for the same item.  Moreover, the manufacturer should value the replacement at nominal value and clearly identify it as replacement/repair unit.

Don't know if that actually works as Corsair ships their memory via UPS from Taiwan and for some reason don't get taxed (whether new or RMA).  Might be worth doing in any case.  Just take a picture cropping out the headband in case they replace it  .

I'll be honest Jake, I'm seriously considering this option. I mean I love the LCD2 to death but this has just made me so angry.  I am of half a mind to take my business elsewhere. I mean, I have been planning to buy Merlins for a while now, a full refund gives me an instant Merlin.

I checked my warranty card and Audeze says that full refund is one of my options in case of a warranty defect.

Yup, LCD2 drivers were known to die and it's a well-documented issue. I should have listened to caution, but the poison of the LCd2s was too great.

Well, I don't think you like the LCD2 that much anyways. If it was me, I'd get a refund and buy some custom monitors (Westone ES5). But that's just me. Sorry to hear about the problem though bro. Hopefully, things will be okay the next time.

That's the pain of it. I *LOVE* the LCD2! I replaced the HD650 (one of my fave cans of all time) with it because it was clearly a straight upgrade when I was doing AB-testing with Racio's pair last year.  But urgh this is a real headache. Yeah, I'm thinking refund into customs right now, really. Boo Audeze.
