Looks like that's how local retailers played this warranty thing or probably store discretion.

ramosjp26,

That's a good price! Is your unit brand new?

So far it's still working well after almost 2 months. Let's see if it still works after December 9. :)

Ramosjp26,

At what store did you get your SE215?
Any local retailer here that sells this IEM with local warranty?

Hi bros,,

I am actually here in Abu Dhabi. I bought it at a store called iStyle. It's the authorized seller of apple here equivalent of powermac there. I got the translucent black. The clear ones are an eyecandy but i worry it'll turn green in the lon run,,,that is if it lasts. Hehe. So far i'm enjoying the sound and fit of it. I doubt though if it can outlast my ue superfi 3 which i bought @ the same store 3yrs ago.

Ramosjp26,

They sell it cheaper than the US SRP.  :)

They said that those SE215s with failed drivers were part of a batch. Some users who bought their SE215s after June are not experiencing any problems yet. I'm not sure about this batch thing though since the statements were from the users and not from the manufacturer. I just read them from another portable audio site.

Just went to Power MAC Store in Trinoma, they don't sell this IEM. Any other leads on where to buy them?

Any news on whether the issues on the SE215 have been sorted out? It looks like a great IEM for the price, but those socket(?) issues make me very wary.

From reading the threads at head-fi, the socket issues seem to have been more widespread in early batches. Shure hasn't released an official statement either regarding this, AFAIK.

So I guess you'll have to roll the dice and hope you get a non-faulty unit. Shure has a good presence locally so warranty claims shouldn't be an issue.

Hmm... Considering this since it seems meet most of the criteria listed here, but the socket issue is a potential red flag. I guess I'll have to drop by an Audiophile branch sometime and make sure about the replacement policy / warranty to be sure.

My SE215 is now past 2 months since I got it back from Shure Hong Kong. The next checkpoint will be on month 6 (April 9, 2012).  :D

moonbeamturbo, any updates on the status of your se215? really interested in this. My Hippo VB is failing already  :'(

Can anyone share if audiophile stores honor replacement warranties in case this se215's fail? TIA :)

from what i know, shure products purchased in the philippines come with a 2yr warranty,,, so i guess it is safe to buy it there. btw, my 215's are still
doing great with no signs of any negative defect. i must say i was lucky when i bought this because i got it for approx php3.5k. after a week or so the new retail here is approx. php5k.
