i thought the button engraving would be SR80i ;D

Yup pag mushroom yung cups "i". The normal SR80 looks exactly like airwax's SR60, mejo flat.

Thought as much, but it would have been funky to have the very first Grado you had Don. :)

I just realized that the Grado SR60 and SR80 (with or without i) are just the same
it just depends on how Grado slightly modified it
ie: SR60 comfies SR80 bowls, SR60i 2 conductor SR80i 4 conductor
Modified iPod Touch 4G >
Modified Fiio L9 >
Modified Fiio E6 - Stock SoundMagic A10 >
Modified Grado SR80 - Modified AKG K518 - Modified Shure SRH440 - Modified Superlux 381 - Modified Superlux 381f - Stock Red Koss PortaPro

and those mods do change the sounds up to discernible levels.

they do sound a little different to my ears even straight out of an ipod. The sr60s highs sound more like lower bitrate mp3s are playing compared to the sr80i.

My ipod with 200kbps and P4 was enough to distinguish the differences between the SR60i and SR80i. Otherwise i would have gotten the SR60i. ;D
