Just in from Chicago, IL via Headfi FS - a 'fat cat modded' Baby Stax SR001 MK2 IEM.

Much like the Sony PF1-V1 this is an oddity with audiophile aspirations but with the Stax 'Stamp" and therefore demands to be taken seriously.

Will spend a few weeks with it namely due to tips - I need better tips than the stock for sure on this wide oval port - suggestions?

Review up before end of month on headfonics.



SRM-001 Specifications

Type: Driver unit for exclusive use with the S-001MK2 earspeaker. All-Stage semiconductors, Class A operation, Portable earspeaker driver unit.
Frequency Response :5 to 20,000Hz
High Frequency Distortion:Max. 0.01% (with 1kHz, 100V r.m.s. output)
Gain:60dB
Input Terminal:1 (1/8in. stereo mini jack)
Rated Input Level:100mV (with 50V output)

Max. Output Voltage:240V r.m.s. (1kHz)
Standard Bias Voltage:580V (with use of AC adapter)

I have to say bass heads please do not apply once again... its a stax sq alright but darker than my 3030 system and smaller sound stage (to be expected). But very luch and smooth with super fast attack and detail.

Yummy!

Not the most comfortable fit lol... anywhere I can get nice wide tips?

hey congrats on the baby Staxxen! and this is a modded version, nice find Marcus! :D

brod Insyte has the unmodded one but haven't heard it yet. he has all praises for it though :)

Once I sort out the fit and comfort factor this set will be full of win I think :)

I am told it is modded but I am going to have Roy check this out to be sure, if the insides are beefed up then this is good news.
