I was totally disappointed with the Pro700 Mk2.  It was a major disappointment to be honest coming from the XB700, XB1000 and the M50. The bass was too uncontrolled, not even boomy, just messy. Tried it on the E7 and the Mp5. I passed on it immediately. No soundstage, really disappointing mids and highs, messy dirty bass. It had some good subterranean shaking going on but nothing the XB700 or XB1000 didn't do way, way better.

The best bang for your buck bass headphone in my mind is still the XB700. Once I am done sorting out this business with the Merlins I will acquire an XB1000, for sure.

I smearked on the first 15 minutes of trying to enjoy the sound sig. I passed it over to Trunk to hear for herself. I prefer the es7 clarity and bass presentation, even the m50.
But i have to admit we got poisoned by the xb700, and say no to my mk2 reservation

yes. Test them both. It will be nice to hear more inputs.

Haha do mind hat you guys are testing a BNIB can vs a hundred hour+ burned-in can.
But personally, i still prefer the xb700 as well. The comfort is a +++++ to me if t is going to be compared to pro700mk2.

Perhaps you were referring to the non-Mk2?
No source, no amps, no IEMs, no headphones. Just music. 8)

They sound different from the mk2. I can personally say they don't satisfiy me ;)

People keep on confusing the Pro700 with the Pro700mk2. There should be a disclaimer somewhere that those are awful IMO compared to the mk2
If it looks bad CF it, If it sounds bad DENKO it!

Part of the confusion is with the gold which has similar tech specs to the mk2.
With the price of the GD, you would have thought it will be better than the mk2.

Still the xb700 for me over these 3 pro700.
