Dale certainly after all this you will be in pole position to do a write up on the dt1350 on headfonics :)

I heard through the grapevine that this review was getting more presence on Google than the rave review at Innerfidelity.  So I searched Google just now for Beyerdynamic DT 1350 review, and this came up first!  The Headfonics review was also near the top - number 8 I think.  I wish I had access to that original DT-1350, because I've been using the iPod/iPad/iPhone EQ more often now, and I would like to test some of those that boost freq. response in the 4 to 7 khz range and see if they make the 1350 sound better for music.  This may also apply to the T50p and those beautiful designer versions, if it turns out that their F.R. has been brought up to at least DT-1350 standards with the new cushions.  Any validation on that would be most welcome.

I would love to get my hands on the new t50p and see if it makes the same impression I had of the modded t50p standard design of last year. My sneaking suspicion is they have better headbands now improving bass response and isolation. i dont think I would dare venture a side by side with the Dt1350 - there is too much love for the 1350 right now :P

Do it.  ;)
The formula of headphone ownership satisfaction is oH = n+1, where "oH" is the optimal number of headphones you need and "n" is the number of headphones you currently own.

I doubt the manufaktur sounds any different. Those are just pimped versions of the standard looks. I actually got a my dt990 32 ohm from there before since nobody else was selling the 32 ohm versions at the time.

I was gonna say I'd get a Manufaktur (just to make sure it has the better clamping headband, which the lack thereof causes a disjointed sound apparently?) T50P to send to you for comparison, but that'd kinda ruin the point of asking for it, in my view...

Actually Bob Pillay (ex Beyer now) of beyer SE told me in October last year that the headband clamp from the first production run was too loose - apparently the R&D of Beyer has a big head haha, so they redid my clamp and sent it back - big improvement. I was told that new production runs would have better clamping as a result of complaints from Asians with small heads  ???

Ahh ok so its different only in these specific cases. I was just talking in general for example that dt880, 990, 770, etc... on the manufaktur site are the same as the standard editions before the customized colors, etc...

in terms of drivers etc nothing new - but the clamp killed the tonality for many.

Oh I think they changed the pads on the old t50p to new dt1350 pads, though I need to check that.

I thought making them yellow made them sound brighter...  ;)

But seriously, I'd have liked if there are tighter tolerances with the Manufakturs since you're paying full price for them.
