I broke my second set yesterday, so I only have two sets remaining. I twisted one earcup too far, and it fell off. They are not repairable at that point. But two things: The one I just unboxed has much more bass than the one I've used for a couple months. If that's burn-in, losing 4 to 5 db of bass, that's not good. The other thing is, I re-read my comments here and I don't think most of them are accurate. The review is still fairly accurate, but the comments not. The bass with my previous two sets was so light I used the Bass Booster EQ on the iPod Touch, and it's still much lighter than bass with the Phiaton MS-400 when the 400 is played with Bass Reducer EQ. The highs are also weak compared to most of my headphones except the PX-100ii which is about the same. But it's the overall balance that's so good with the DTX300 - good mids and low coloration that make music enjoyable in almost any genre. Now I just have to remember not to twist the earcups more than needed to fit my ears, and figure out the deal with the bass and I'll be set. And BTW, unlike the PX-200ii which seals good enough right away to produce reasonably good bass, these little earpads don't seal for awhile, much like the DT-48 on a dry day with no humidity. Actually they do seal quickly when the heat and humidity are high, otherwise no. You might wonder why I bother with these little plastic throwaway headphones - it's the relatively uncolored midrange that's non-fatiguing.
