Before anything else, what's your budget bro? And how much are you willing to spend for your IEM?

Also preferences like detachable cables or not, and of course the all important what type of music does he generally listen to.  ;)
No source, no amps, no IEMs, no headphones. Just music. 8)

UM1s are too expensive.

There are more better sounding BA IEMs for the price.

I used to listen in acoustic and alternative genre. Im using sony mp3 player with fiio e7 portable amp. Right now im using a-jays 3 but im not satisfied by the sound quality. I don't need detachable cables, i need a simple iem with crisp and detailed sound. My budget for iem ranging from 4k-6k. I'm also looking forward for klipsch image s4. I need your good advice guys because im new in this kind of hobby. Thanks

Hmmm...I think there are better alternatives to the UM1 for its price. I can't recall if I had an opportunity to try-out the UM1s @ Jaben around three years ago, but based on what I've been reading @Head-Fi, the UM1 really won't cut it. Yeah, it's a BA-type IEM. But for its price, I think you'll be better served by the S4. Then again, I didn't enjoy my brief demo of the S4. Hmmm...what to suggest, then?

Don't you want give the Metro.Fi 220s a shot? They're only Php2.5k @Sir Leo's/meiroque/dranoel1490 tipidpc page. It can give IEMs twice (or even thrice) its price a scare. ;D A word of caution, though: since you can't remove them cables, there may come a time that they will harden. Or I may be wrong; perhaps UE has already changed the cables in them Metro.Fi 220s.

Better yet, wait for TF10s that will be FS'd. (I really am a UE fanboy through and through)

Hope that helps.

Also try the PL21 and PL30. You can audition them first at Peep's Gameshop in Ayala MRT, or GoGadgets in Gilmore.

They're cheaper than the Jays-3, so I don't know if they'll satisfy you.

I advise to just add another 1.5k to your UM1 budget, and go for the TF10. :)
