LCD2's slipping adjustment post on headband
« on: March 09, 2011, 05:41:32 AM »
My LCD's have a little screw on the box that the adjustment post runs through. I thought you just adjust the post to where you want them and tighten this little screw to hold the post in place.

This doesn't seem to work. Tightening the screw is really tight and the posts still tend to slip up or down.

Any suggestions?

Hmmm... I haven't touched the screws on the gymbals with my pair so far. The rods on mine doesn't easily slide down due to their own weight, especially after I had my headband wrapped in croc leather (the leather snugs the rods a bit and helps in holding them in place). Better email Sankar and ask his recommendations how to sort it out bro.

I have written Audeze twice about this issue and have not heard back from them.

It's a little disappointing.

yeah I had an issue pre-xmas with no reply of emails and got my cousin in LA to call them and got a good reply over the phone instead :) might be worth a few cents to try that.

I thought I should also mention the blocks are different on yours and Racio's LCD-2. The block on the new ones are metal and the older ones are plastic. They changed to metal on account of issues with the plastic ones cracking.  :-\

I didn't notice that mine is indeed hard plastic until you mentioned it now bro. All along I thought 'twas some kind of metal as well.

Take care of those well fitting plastic blocks Racio - the lcd-2 experience has been 100% from what i read except for these blocks and this is what Steve maybe experiencing. With metal molding (I bet you know more about this than me) I presume you get a one time hole that does not get bigger or smaller if the metal is good quality whereas with plastic it can tighten or loosen depending on use.

If yours are not cracking then i suspect you got a good one :) Steve if your blocks are sub standard comments on headfi suggest that Audeze indeed do replace blocks upon customer request.

But I suggest if you are not getting a response to call them so at least they can begin the process of replacing the block or both blocks causing the issue.

I really must stop thinking about the lcd-2 and speak more about my HE6 :P

^My plastic blocks are still going strong so far bro. I even loosened up the screws within that lock the rods in place since the croc leather I had installed already "hugs" them tight.

But truth be told, I also had my share of defect issue with my own pair (a minor black paint chipping on the C-clamps), however, Sankar replied within 2 minutes of my email and offered to send me a free pair of brand new replacement parts ASAP, and even sent me a bottle of that sweet smelling lemon paste wood treatment for free as well. :))

without going too far off topic but I find the CS of Audeze to be rather uneven, some emails get super responses for both you and Steve and some get canned with no response ever.

if ever there is a case for a CS help desk then this is it.

I did finally get an email back.

It's looks like my L's are missing a couple of allen screws.

I sent some pictures to Audeze to show them.

I should hear something back from them in a day or two.

I'll post the results.

They must've loosened and fallen off, a short trip to your nearest nuts & bolts store should fix that in a jiffy bro. :)

I don't think I ever had the Allen screws. I looked at my L's very closely when I got them and I didn't see any such screws.

The screws on my hard plastic blocks are plain flat screw head types, and I haven't really did much adjusting to them since I got my cans. I hope they send the screws if you can't find them in the local shops.
