burn-in Should be sound (music or pink noise) played louder than your average listening volume

OT: Sir, what exactly is "pink" noise? I also remember reading somewhere about "white"and "brown."

Static noise. I dont know the diff between the 3. Whats important is that the driver is moving to loosen up the coil

IIRC

pink noise is a mashup of all frequencies in the audio band, people claim it to be good for burning-in because of the uniform frequency response.

white noise is random.

i dont know much about brown but i think thats a derivative of white noise.

i have no experience yet with headphones burn-in but i guess the principle is the same with Home audio speakers and car audio .....

i usually play something at a soft volume (kahit radio lang, like what i did sa polk ko before ) for 24 hours just to exercise the mechanism..... after that *BOOM BOOM BOOM* :D hehehe

normally you'll notice the bass is softer and the highs are more smoother and rounder than when you first played it ... which tends to be harsh pa .....

Cant wait  for my Sr80i ...... all this waiting is killing me inside out!!!

I'm skeptical about burn-ins too, though there is this time that one day I realize my earphone sounded better, the bass starts to came out and it's tighter, before it was all treble. That was like 3 months afteri bought it. Though I'm not sure if that's burn-in or a placebo effect.

I remembered my MS1i in burned in state. The treble section started to lighten. Doesn't pierce my ears like they were before. Bass slams out smoothly unlike the bnew state.

What I did to notice them easily. Before I go to bed I listen to 1 track. preferable acoustic tracks. Acoustic because you can easily notice instrument and sound changes. when im done listening i set them in burned in mode then go to sleep. In the morning I listen to them with the same track I last listened last night. Do this everyday. You can easily notice it.:)

i agree with you bro after 20 hours of burning in my MS1i
highs is not that piercing compared when i first used it

difference for me :)

in 2 way audio, i can tell the difference between a new vs a fully burned speaker. Sadly, even after several headphones, I really cant tell 100%  :(
