From where are you, bro?
The K518 is getting more and more available here in the Philippines these days. :)

Some stores you can find them:
-JBL concept stores
-Audiophile music stores
-PowerMac outlets

I read he is in Kuwait.

AKG K240M, FiiO E7, SE Xperia X8 on PowerAmp

JBL sells k518le for 4.6k php. i got mine from audiophile sm north for only 3.4k.  with the price difference  you could already buy a fiio e5 or e6 portable amp  :)
Nobody is perfect... That is of course until you fall in love with them...

Thanks for your inputs guys. But unfortunately, the K518 is not available here. I can't find any audio shop here that sells that model. People here are very fond of BEATS by Dr. Dre headphones by the way. It's very abundant here even the fake ones as well, lol.

Well based on the comments I've red it seems like no one here likes K81. Maybe I should give Pioneer HDJ-2000 a shot.

Thanks again guys!

Go do it!

I've always been curious about those headphones, but the stores that sell them don't have any audition units, and I'm not really up for spending 12-15k for a "listen".

Yeah there are fakes, and yes the K518 is pretty small.

i wonder what they sound like?  i know some people who bought the fake beats tour and said they prefer the fakes than the original because they have more bass.  maybe it's the same with fake k518? lol  ;D
OT;
Midbass gives the sense of more bass punch, but not 20hz to 100hz details, as it will overpower and mull over the mids as well. different conception which is typical of layman perceptions of bass.
Trust only your own ears. Mine are different, lol.

Well one thing I can tell about this cans is that its a bassy one. So I don't think it'll be a good all rounder but still its up to your preferences.

Oh and should I mention that theres a red one on the IFS section selling for only 2k?  ::)
Stay away from showoff freaks.

It's does fine for most genres so long as you don't mind prevalent bass. YMMV on the ear-crushing clamp though, it became unbearable for me so I sold my K518DJ a while back. I believe you can audition these at JBL concept stores either in Megamall or Bonifacio High Street.

^My usual question goes.. Are they good for metal?  ;D

I like deep punchy bass but dont want it to be overwhelming. I had the sony ex300 which i didnt like. The bass really gets in the way which is kind of annoying. I have tried the pioneer hdj500 and it has overall great SQ with punchy bass. Problem is its not foldable. Thats why im considering the K518. Yes..im looking forward on that sale right there  :D

Ill audition these first as you said.

awesome cans if I do say so myself ;D

cons are the clamping pressure and the prevailent bass which could take getting used to. first thing you have to do when auditioning these cans is to remove the foam. just pinch it out, they're easy to put back too. even if these are bassy cans they do shine on vocals and strings though a bit recessed
