Hi guys,
is the Enma alone enough to improve the sound quality of my gaming headset? (corsair vengeance 1300)

The answer to your question is just a page behind....
Try it without an amp first. I already find it loud enough for my headphones. If you still crave for an amp, then that's the time you get one.

I find it the same way.

The ENMA DAC is heaps better than your standard noisy onboard Realtek or whatever chip it has.
So yes, it would improve your SQ. I don't know if the Corsair Vengeance has good response towards it though.

"Gaming" audio gear is usually tuned to produce cinema-like sound effects, so YMMV.

For starters, you have to verify if your files are either lossless (FLAC/ALAC/TTA or whatever popular lossless here is) or a high quality 320CBR MP3

Then you could start by downloading foobar2000 from foobar2000.org or winamp, they're totally the same, except foobar2000 is more modular and bloatware free.

And if you would like to ask more questions, please find the Foobar2000 appreciation thread. (We don't have a winamp thread yet)

@HK-47

I used my MS1i, I haven't tested my A151 on it yet :)

@Riesig

I guess since I'm using a laptop, all of my USB ports are on the same port pair.. so I guess using an external hub wouldn't help?

Have you tried changing your mouse port? (How many USB ports do you have?)
The external hub won't work. Still the same port used. But if you already own a hub, it won't hurt to try.

I found this forum because of this DAC so I just felt it was fitting that my first post would be here.

This DAC is just simply... awesome.

My laptop couldn't fully support my Roccat Kave's 5.1 system so this DAC was a life-saver of sorts.

I have my Roccat Kave plugged into the 5.1 jacks for gaming while my PX100 is plugged into the headphone jack for listening to music. It's really improved my audio experience.

Now I'm addicted to improving my sound system. What to get next?! ;)

wow!  ::)
what can i say? better soundstage, firmer bass, and the most important feature you can get by using this USB sound card, is that it alters the orientation of the speaker.. so if you're watching a movie, and a car moved from left to right of your screen, you'll hear it the other way around, which is from right to left. Isn't that amazing? But because i am an honest person, i return it to them and told them that they might have mistaken the unit i purchased with a high end one, so i ask for a replacement?  i asked for a different model, but it turned out that it has the same feature.. well i have no choice but to take it home and consider myself lucky... ::)  ::)

I don't get it. Does it pertain to that sound card or even to the ENMA?

I think the ENMA also had channel switching problems. Luckily, mine hasn't. FB2K says Front L and sound outputs to my left IEM.

My unit has the same problem with the output.  I have mine connected to a preamp.  Just switch the RCA cables to correct the problem.
