I've heard that the low end one is a really great value. Get the newer release async version though. You can tell it against the older one due to its flatter shape.

older one

newer one

Also I've read in a recent review. Sorry couldn't remember. It states that the old + is now the new streamer 2 which is the low end.  Therefore the new streamer plus would defenitely be an even improved version.  I am quite happy with the low end one.

Just got my Streamer II from Ferdie of Sounds & Images together with 2m Analysis Plus USB cable. Will try to burn it in a little bit through a Luxman amp via my Powerbook before I give it a listen. The HRT MSII is very light and upon registration on their website they send you a link to a free music download which I am currently downloading. I just hope the freebie is a good one  :).

Congratulations on your HRT2.  I am confident that you will find it pleasing to your ears. I was initially hoping for the plus model but the $200 price difference was a little steep.  The HRT2 is terrific.  In fact, right out of the box, it is good.  Now after 200 hrs, even BETTER!  Cheers.

After 2 hours of initial break-in, I have to admit that this is a great sounding DAC. I have not much experience with DACs as I'm a vinyl junkie during those years of madness but this is a notch up from my NOS Scott Nixon which I sold 3 years ago. The background noise is totally non existent on my Singlepower. I find that music just flows with much liquidity that is hard to describe. Now here is the rub  :'( How does the HRT MS II+ sounds like???. Will I just be missing a little 'something' or 'a lot'? Oh. I forgot to tell you guys that I'm using a very expensive, high end vJays for this review!!! What an inexpensive way to nirvana  ;).

Hi airwax. PM me if you're interested and I'll give you Ferdie's number. He ships directly from Cebu.

I use the HRT 2 and extremely happy.  Tried the plus and for the $200 difference and the improvement...I'd say I'm happy I just got the streamer 2 and happy with it.

I just got the HRT Music Streamer II from Ferdie at Sounds and Images.  After about half an hour of listening to it, all I can say is that I want to stay up all night listening to all my music again!  Its definitely an improvement over the E7 dac.  Right now I'm using the e7 as an amp.  Hoping to get a better desktop amp soon!

Same here, I'm quite interested on the Music Streamer II+. I wonder how it compares to the HDP.
